Lauren Edwards

Lauren was a student at Stage I for 15 years. She was in the Performing Company for 12 years and an assistant teacher for 6 years. She has performed at many competitions, benefits, and recitals.

Through her dancing experience, Lauren was invited to New York two where she participated in an acting program called Beginnings; both times being called back by interested agents, but declined both times because her love for home was too strong. As a student in performing company she traveled to Las Vegas for national competitions and also received the Steven Boyd Scholarship from Dance Makers Inc. Through these competitions and workshops, Lauren has studied under many master teachers and choreographers. Lauren has also participated in the American Girl Show at Conner Prairie.

As an instructor, Lauren continues her dance education by attending conventions and studying under master teachers. Most recently, Lauren has attended Dance Teacher Connection by MusicWorks. There she learned from amazing people in the dance world such as, Darryl Retter, Linda Bernabei-Retter, Thommie Retter, Becca Retter, Gina Badone, Brandon Jarrett, Chris Rogers, Aleksandra Wojda, Janice Barringer, and Joan Lather “Ms. Puffie”.

Lauren graduated from Greenwood Community High School where she was an active member of the Greenwood Dazzlers, where she was honored as MVP and All-American Dancer, Peer Mentor, Vice-president of the Booster Club, and on the Student Council.

Lauren attended college at the University of Indianapolis where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Community Health Education.
